Those of you with the MT/MV screen?
I just picked up this unit, having had the SXGA+ one a week or so, and find it a bit too small.
Now, while I like the XGA resolution (okay, I don’t like the lack of pop sharpness that it lacks from the SXGA+) I find the text a bit jaggy ( I have just turned on ClearType which wasn’t enabled automatically in Vista) and the sharpness of the resolution is lacking. Again, certainly the SXGA+ has the pop sharpness, but this is about a 20% kick back.
The second question I have is around the MT screen feel. On the SXGA+ screen, it basically felt like the pen was writing on smooth glass. As well, the inking seems to flow smoothly to the screen, smooth ink laydown if that can be said. With the MT/MV screen, two things are happening.
1) the inking feel of the pen is scratchy on the screen, yes it feels more like paper
2) the ink that is layed down, doesn’t seem solid. I would put it as like a pen almost running out of ink. Some of the lines have a little thinness.
Also, the screen itself, seems to have a little GIVE when touching it with the pen, whereas the SXGA+ screen seemed solid. So of as if there is a plastic layer on the MT/MV screen, that isn’t totally flush with the SCREEN underneath?
The final thing, is the MT element to it. There is a very lame control panel labled TOUCH SCREEN, which has just ONE calibration button. So, it doesn’t seem as if the calibration can be done as detailed as with the PEN TOUCH INPUT control panel for the pen, detailing calibration settings for Landscape, Portrait, etc. Is this the way, are there some much better TOUCH controls or drivers for the MT/MV screen?
Does any of this sound normal? Is this the way it is?
Questions about new MT/MV screen, feel and feedback.
anyone
Does anyone have any comments about these two data points?
