What is the vibration in the X61t? Why one more than other?

So, I often put the laptop on my laptop, and I am coming off my dear T42. With this latest X61t, I notice a sort of vibration, sometimes on full, sometimes not. But, is this the FAN, or the HD? Is there a way to limit it?
So, I have the SXGA+ here, AND the MT/MV XGA, still undecided about which I will keep.
But, they are pretty much spec'd the same, 100 gb 7200 drives, the MT has the 1.8 processor.
But, I can FEEL the vibration above, either fan or HD, more in the MT. It comes and goes, sometimes it is solid, sometimes slower, but on the SXGA+ I really don't feel it?
Why would one have it more than the other?

Let me guess you feel it from left hand side on the plamrest? that's the fan. My co-worker says it makes snake like hiss at times.

My t60 had a very slight vibration that I could only feel when it was in a certain position on my lap. I couldn't work out what it was, but then I spun the hard drive down and it stopped. Sent it back to IBM and they apparently replaced it, but when it came back I could still feel it. Not sure whether its just the way they mount them these days, as I could never feel it in my r40.
MT/MV more than SXGA+

Perhaps a defective fan and noisy drive on MT.
