Any SATA HD will work on X61 Tablet?

#1 Post by bin.dong » Sat Dec 22, 2007 9:09 pm

Just ordered a brand new 7K100 SATA HD for my X61T, but I am not sure it'll fit on X61T or not. If not, I can cancel it.

Any SATA 2.5 drive should work.

No more error message, like T43?

Correct. There is no bios related error on after market HDD on T6x since T6x doesn't use a SATA <-> IDE bridge found in T43.

ThinkPads X61s ship with the 7K100, so if you also ordered a 7K100 you should be fine.
X61t — Intel X25-M G2 160 GB SSD, 4.0 GiB RAM, Kubuntu GNU/Linux 10.10
T42p — 1.5 GiB RAM, Kubuntu GNU/Linux 8.04

Does that mean the X60/X60s doesn't have the bios issue like the T43 did?
It's all about Thinkpad

Yes, just make sure your HDD firmware and thinkpad BIOS are up to date.
