It's difficult to compare without more information to quantify that "60'C" you get.
What is the power management setting on CPU speed and fan control?
Are you running AC or Battery?
in dock station?
What apps are running and for how long?
Is WiFi/WWAN on?

Sugo mentions some valid questions. Especially when sitting in the X6 Ultrabase, temps increase up to 8° C in my case.
In addition I would like to add the room temperature, which can affect temps quite a bit as well. Here in Thailand, when I work on my X61 without the air con on (room temp of 29+ degrees celsius) it will idle around 45-48° C.
When I stress it while doing some video converting/compression while sitting in the X6 Ultrabase, CPU temps can go up to 71-77° C. This seems like a lot, but the max threshold is set at 100° C for this mobile Core 2 Duo processor.
In general, it does not go above 53° C though, but it really depends on a variety of factors.
