I have a question. Is Blacklight screen leakage covered on the lenovo generals warranty? My screen leakage is minor on the top left screen it saw it on the day I got the X61T Tablet, that is a week ago. I was just wonder if I decide to have them fix it, is it covered under basic warranty. It doesn't bother me too much but it will be nice to have that option. I d0nt want to return the laptop,
it will take too long to get another from lenovo.

Unfortunately it isn't but if the minor leakage extends to major, warranty would definitely cover it. In any case trying in your situation could get you favorable result or vice versa.

one more question. why is Lenovo warranty upgrade-policy is so messed up.? I just purchase my Laptop from lenovo a week ago w/ a 2 year Depot warranty initially. I wanted to upgrade to 2 year think pad protection service. because of my screen issue for future accidental protection warranty. They are saying that you can only upgrade once, but I never upgraded. They counted the initial purchase as an upgrade. They have to talk to a manager to complete my order, if the manager let it. I hare read in the Lenovo Warranty upgrade protection policy that I have 30 Day to upgrade the accidental protection warranty.

From Lenovo website"ThinkPad and Lenovo Care Protection Services. If you are purchasing a new machine, you may upgrade your service with ThinkPad and Lenovo Care Protection.
ThinkPad or Lenovo Care Protection must be purchased within 30 days of your new ThinkPad or Lenovo notebook product order, and your service term begins concurrently with the product warranty.

To view a Supported Products List for ThinkPad and Lenovo Care Protection, click on its selection below:"

I spoken to lenovo sales , some guy from india. It was a bad experience they can speak English but they won't understand you if you get a little technical w/ you laptop issue like "Backlight Leakage"., they don't know anything about manure . . . i will try ibm customer care in the USA on Monday. I think they will have better trained customer care to help me.

P.S. Thanks for the reply "ryengineer " kiss kiss

Man that is messed up, it will be over 30 days before I even recieve the laptop! So I guess I won't be extending the warranty...
