That's like a mechanic telling someone whose car's radiator starts to boil when they drive 100 km/hr to drive at 80 km/hr. Yeah, it might help for the time being, but that's not a freaking solution to the real problem, considering the car should be able to drive at 200 km/hr without an issue.

Look, I didn't say mine was THE solution to the problem, nor did I say improving the cooling mechanisms wasn't the solution. So, please don't get agitated. I mentioned reducing the monitor's resolution simply because
dejx said he was watching 720p movies on a 1920x1200 monitor, so he didn't need the full resolution of the monitor anyway and reducing the resolution would ameliorate his problem a tiny bit. Getting the fan or thermal interface replaced or cleaned up would obviously be the most important thing to do, but there are additional little things that can help a little further. Reducing the resolution is one of these little things, and it doesn't cost a single penny.
