Does anyone know if the X61 supports max fastest cpu's such as the T7600, T7700,etc... above the 2.2ghz listed on the site?

According to tabook, following processors are supported:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T7250, T7300, T7500, T8100, or T8300 with dual-core, Intel 64 Technology, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep™ technology1, Intel Dynamic Acceleration, Execute Disable Bit, Virtualization Technology, 800MHz bus; T7250: 2MB L2 cache; T7300/T7500: 4MB L2 cache; T8100/T8300: 3MB L2 cache.

Just so to let you know the CPU is soldered onto the system board.

thanks for the heads up. I was planning to take it apart before buying an upgrade.

yea i was just planning to upgrade to Penryn's last week, had a T9500 all picked out... then found out the cpu is soldered on... all my upgrade dreams shattered in an instant
