What do you guys think the next X300t(?) Tablet should be ??
My wishlist:

Intel Montevina architecture with Penryn processors (may release date)

LED Backlit 12.1 SXGA+ (1440x1050) or WSXGA(1280x800) screen, widescreen should be an option and no more XGA( 1024x768).. Higher res can go down, lower res cant go up!!

2gb ddr2 ram

60-120gb HD.. ssd is way too expensive right now

GMA X4500 integrated graphics from intel ( the laptop version, part of montevina architecture)

Intergrated microphone is nice for tablets to record professors

Integrated camera is a possiblity but if it add to the extra bulk, keep it out

Atheros wireless card (Atheros generally has better wireless reception than intel in my experience, also the next gen card is supposed to consume next to no power)

Bluetooth 2.0 EDR
and Obviously kickass tablet functionality

Leave the optical drive out( hardly need it on the road).. or atleast make it swappable for something else.

Thinkpad Essentials:

Full keyboard as always
Thinklight should be included, No fancy keyboard lighting.. thinklight makes so much more sense
Forget roll cage for tablets, it will only make it heavier

Tablet is supposed to be light.. under 3 lbs, Ultraportability is the name of the game but making it ridicolously thin and extending its footprint... not engineering
X61 was a nice balance between power and portability.. keep along with it.

Battery should range from 5-7hrs

Price arnd $2000 and you got yourself another thinkpad customer

I know from X200 and 300 leaks that some of the above are already in the works

Anyone want to add to this list??

I'd like to see an SSD option at least, hopefully prices will come down by the time the new processors come into fruition and are cost effective

imo SSD is just not technologically or price-wise ready for prime time, as much as we all would like it to be, it just has too many downsides at this point to make it a valid swap from HD's, which on the other hand are getting HUGE, by the time the X62 (or whatever its called) comes out 500gb HD's will be out which will make SSD look even worse

I agree that laptop HDDs are becoming really large, and coming down in price as well, however, I think with all the new companies and existing ones that are devoting part of their development programs into SSDs will allow them to become larger and thus cheaper, although not to the extent (yet) that the HDD will be at.

Another thought, will be to see if future regular HDDs become faster, quieter, not affect battery life, and less hot as they run, which will also affect the choice between SSD and HDD
