As a photojournalist, the X61s and all my essential gear fits well into my super favorite Tumi backpack. But it's often difficult to fit in the ac adapter, an essential for all day long assignments. Has anyone acquired a second ac adapter from 3rd parties like Kensington, Targus or some other place that is thin and flat and easy to pack. I know that I'm being picky, with the oem ac adapter, already being small, but it's still to thick to squeeze into some spaces for my needs.

I've seen DC adapters from Targus and others that are much thinner - but I can't find a smaller AC or AC/DC adapter than the 65W from Lenovo.

Thanks so much for this bit of hopeful info. Makes me think that this is the adapter that would most likely be included with the new x300. Now the hope is that this adapter just makes it to full availability. On another site, I read of Lenovo's plans to move all notebook manufacturing to several other design companies in Taiwan. Thanks again for this adapter news. It's precisely what I was looking for!

we talked about the new travel adapter recently in this thread:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=55178

don't expect to see it bundled with any thinkpads.   it's a travel adapter with small parts to lose -- not something businesses are willing to handle.

i have one on backorder and am at the top of the list.   as soon as it arrives then i will post photos comparing the 65W, 90W, and 90W slim travel adapters in the thread linked above or in the general thinkpad news forum.

I have used this Kensington AC/DC power supply for about 2 years and it has worked great. http://us.kensington.com/html/6368.html I had to contact Kensington for the proper adapter for my T60/X60, I believe it is the M25. Kensington shipped it to me free when I gave them the serial number of the power supply. I

t is much thinner than the OEM brick, but it is wider. I've bought a couple from ebay for around $30, do a search for Kensington 33197.
