Gurus,
I currently am currently running VISTA which reports on my Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Driver version 5.1.2535.0 by Broadcom dated 24/10/2006.
Windows Update reports I have the latest and greatest.
However, when I run ThinkVantage System Update, the following update recommendation is made:
ThinkPad Bluetooth with EDR Version 6.0.1.4900.
Can someone explain the difference? What is the rationale behind the different numbering schemes?
I am considering this because of crashes on low power states which send the laptop to hibernate. When I turn it back on it gives me a blue screen. As I frequently close the lid and send it to sleep, I seem to fit one of the causes for crash resolved by the Lenovo release note...
TIA

I went ahead and updated the Bluetooth with EDR driver due to BSOD I was having going into sleep and coming out of it.
I thought these were related to BT so...
Well, the BSOD are not gone. I am now running the latest Broadcom as proposed by the System Update tool.
I noticed the Event Log reports "The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver has been unloaded."
Any ideas?

Fellows,
just want to say that I resolved my stability issues after re-applying the updates. Only this time, I made sure the antennas were turned off!
This is actually stated in the note accompanying the driver. Too bad the updater doesn't take care of that transparently.
Since then -I waited now long enough to confirm- the thinkpad runs smoothly.
