There doesn't seem to be any mention of it in the specs on Lenovo's web site.

I got 1 GB installed, and am running WinXP Pro SP2. I was wondering if there was any advantage to buying 4 GB of RAM when I upgrade, so that I have identical sticks in both slots. Unless there is an enormous advantage to doing otherwise, I will probably just get an additional 2 GB. I know that WinXP wouldn't be able to use the fourth gigabyte of RAM anyway.

Dual-channel isn't a big advantage to begin with. I believe it supports "asymmetric" dual-channel as well, so you don't have to get identical sticks

yes, it got a new name "flexible memory". 1GB+2GB is a good configuration. I have the same. But you get dual channel speed for the dual Ram area only (2GB). Speed difference anyway is only minor (15% max, theoretically)

just get 1+1 config, best speed, and honestly 2gb of ram is enough for 99% of people, i have 1+1 config it works out great, asymmetrical is slower than symmetrical by about 4%, but like people said it depends on application

I think that's right. I went from 1+1 to 2+2 recently. I work with some very large (5000+ page) documents and have done some HDV video editing recently and I can't really tell the difference. (32-bit XP-pro - so I only see 3GB)

On the other hand - it was cheap ($80 for the new DRAM).
