what is the difference between the multi view/ multi touch screen and the sxga+ screen. sorry for my ignorance as ive never owned a tablet and i couldn't find an explanation on lenovo's page. in other words what would i be losing by picking the sxga+ screen. Is either one brighter than the other? any help would be great.

I believe the MV/MT is only XGA, so you would be losing screen brightness, I have the X61T with SXGA+ 1400res and its bright, and clear

yes, but what is the difference between ad MT/MV screen and the SXGA screen. I realize the MT/MV screen is XGA, so is the sxga screen not a MT/MV screen, and what is MT/MV? what is the benefit of this over the standard tablet touch screen?

Both screens allow you to write on them with the pen.
BUT, only the MV (multi-view...inside/outside viewing)/MT (Multi-touch...allows you to use your finger to scroll and touch the screen like the pen (although you can't use your finger and pen at the same time I believe).
I know there are lots of posts out there with a lot of detailed info regarding these two subjects.
Anyways, hope this helps.

yes, thank you! that is pointing me in the right direction. Is there really that big of a difference between XGA and SXGA on a 12"screen? I haven't seen either but that will make a big difference between which one i buy. I would use it for taking notes and what not. How do you switch between pen mode and touch mode? Is it a simple button press? I think i would really like the option of being able to use touch and not just the pen. Are the screens on the tablets brighter per say than on the T-series because my t42p is almost useless in daylight conditions.

No button-pressing involved. Just use either the pen or your finger.

I don't know what kind of screen you have with your t42p, but I have the SXGA+ with my tablet, and when I take it outside its not that bad. Definitively viewable, but wouldn't say outstanding.
I know with the MV/MT screens (only XGA) their supposed to be much better for outside viewing.

i have the UXGA flexview screen. it is great for viewing at an angle but as far as brightness goes, it is in my opinion, sub par. that is one area i think lenovo should consider upgrading or giving us the option to upgrade. thanks for the info, that is what i was looking for.

I don't think so. The "Superview"(x61t's SXGA+) screen is the best, indoors and outdoors.

Really, my bad than.
I guess I'm only coming from using with the battery outside and the screen brightness down low to conserve life.
Sorry for the misinformation.
