Need a New DVD Drive for Ultrabase

#1 Post by atrix415 » Thu Jan 31, 2008 5:46 am

hi, I searched and didnt find any info. I am planning on getting a DVD+RW with my ultrabase (CDRW/DVD) now. My question is can I put any DVD+RW into the ultrabase and would the ones with slot-loading work like in apples and toshiba DVD Drives.

thanks

X6 Ultrabase comes with Ultrabay slim slot which accepts an ultrabay slim drive measuring 5.04 in x 0.37 in x 5.08 in (WxHxD), slot loading slimline super burners with same dimensions are available from manufacturers but I'm unsure whether the thinkpad would accept and ultrabase can utilize such technology or not.

you need a 9.5mm height drive. most are 12mm i think. Panasonic makes the 9.5mm height drives. i think the MacBook's might have had slot load 9.5mm drives, but i'm not sure. as long as they're ultra-slim drives, they should work but don't take my word on it.
