resolution on x61

#1 Post by Hazarrd » Fri Feb 01, 2008 1:35 am

the max. resolution i seem to be able to use on my x61 (type 7675) is 1024 x 768. Is this really the best resolution available? Is there anything i can do to set it at anything better?

thanks!

This is the physical resolution of the LCD panel. It has that many physical pixels (small points capable of displaying a single color at a time). If you ask the panel to display more pixels, or less, it would have to transform the image by squishing or stretching the pixels to fit in the amount of physical pixels you have. The usual result is very bad image quality, and I am not even sure if standard drivers will allow you to set a higher resolution.

The external output allows you to use much higher resolutions.
