Damaged tablet

Recently, I dropped my laptop bag and damaged my x60 tablet. On the right side of the cover, there is a crack and the area is depressed;
the screen is fine.
Fortunately, I have Total Protection so I can get it repaired.
However, I have read several threads that claim that their thinkpad, after repair, came back in worse shape. What are some recommendations so that I can reduce this scenario?
What should I tell Lenovo? I bought Total Protection for just such an occasion, but that doesn't mean there are things that Lenovo won't repair without a fee

When you say 'right side of the cover', assuming that you are talking about the LCD lid, that is not a terribly difficult part to replace, but you do have to disassemble the machine a fair bit to remove the LCD. I'd tell Lenovo the truth. That's what you have the coverage for.

I am unfortunately in this group. I don't think there is anything you can really do about it, though. I sent my tablet in to get the latch repaired and it came back with a messed up screen: horrible yellow backlight bleeding and they assembled it poorly so the edges are no longer flat (the plastic is indented horribly). Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled. To top it off, it took them 4 weeks to get me my laptop back the first time, I sent it in to get the LCD fixed, took another 2 weeks, and it came back in even WORSE shape.

If you have Thinkpad accidental coverage protection then it is covered.

There are also threads where members cited about having received tremendous service from EasyServ. Nevertheless if you don't want to send it to them then you don't have to, take it to any local IBM authorized service center in your area instead:
Find a service provider.
Thanks ryengineer

Thanks for link. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but the results come back negative for service in my area (Minnesota); I have tried a few cities and the farthest distance parameter.
My apprehension to sending it in to Lenovo is because of the reviews and that it runs perfect.
Yes, I hate the damage. But right now, the damage is cosmetic; at least, I don't see anything wrong with its performance. So, I may just wait and see if any problems develop.
