New X61T - Better than expected specs; ACPI settings

I recently received my first ThinkPad, a X61 Tablet, and have a few questions I can't figure out:
First, when I ordered from the outlet store the specified memory was 2 GB RAM & 1 GB Turbo memory. In task manager it shows up as 3 GB memory, which I initially assumed meant 2 GB RAM + 1 GB Turbo. But today when I was checking some BIOS settings I was surprised to find that the BIOS reports 4096 MB RAM, which would make better sense because then Vista Ultimate 32-bit would only recognize 3 GB, and treat the Turbo memory separately. So did I just receive double the RAM I paid for? This wouldn't surprise me, as I've had similar pleasant experiences when purchasing from the outlet store before (search my other posts).
Second, I'm experiencing some high-pitched noise on battery power, which from the forums and the ThinkWiki I'm assuming comes from power settings. It seems from what I've read that disabling the ACPI C4 or both C4 & C3 settings would help, especially as I find that if I enable "CPU Deeper Sleep" in the ThinkVantage Power Manager for AC power then the machine will emit the same noise when plugged in. My problem is that every explanation of how to disable these modes seems arcane; can anyone help with a toned-down guide for the not so tech-savvy?
Finally, the battery information utility indicates that the design capacity for my 8-cell is 66.24 Wh. However, my full charge capacity is rated at 75.60 Wh, whereas for example right now plugged in with thresholds set to prolong battery life I have 73.48 Wh remaining capacity. Which figure is right, and how can I have an actual capacity larger than the design capacity?
Besides that I'm very pleased with the purchase, clicked on "place order" Monday night last week and it arrived this past Monday, and everything is running very well. The tablet feature works great!
