X Series, Processors and Screens

I'm trying to decide on an X Series and would welcome some guidance. I need a small laptop and the X fits the bill, the problem is I really want the SVGA screen but don't really need a tablet, is there any liklihood of this screen coming to the regular X series laptops?

I have spec'd out both and the price isn't prohibitive but the tablet seems to have a lot of compromise just to get the higher resolution screen, most notably on the processor. Is there any special reason why the tablets have the slower processors and the (in my opinion) better screen but the laptops do not?

What I'd like is a 2GHz X61 with an SVGA screen, do you think that's likely to happen any time soon?

Chris.

you mean SXGA+ screen ;) SVGA is 800 x 600 with VGA being 640 x 480! :)

But for that happening no, not with these machines. Maybe later on with a x62 or something if those even come out. They have rumors of the x200 and x300 right now but that's about that. Those come in normal and widescreen respectively but it's not much higher resolution. This is why i think the 14" T series is the best when it comes to that. A small X series keyboard would be too small for me to do lots of typing on but a 15.4" widescreen wouldn't be portable (for me)
