Comments about the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase....

Folks,
we recently purchased a few x61's along with the X6 UltraBase. Within 1 week we had the power supply/connections fail in one Base, the grey start button in another (front right hand side) got pushed into its cavity and became non functional, and one of the replacement sent for these failed ones has even more problems. The laptop frequently loses its connection with Base. One sees this when the screen all of a sudden becomes darker, as the laptop is switched to battery when it loses the Base. Also, the network connection will is lost. I noted that there are two connection pins towards the back of the station. Both are supposed to be spring-loaded. One of them still is, as of now, but the other one seemed to have been pushed into the base, thus looks shorter than the normal one. I suspect this mechanical design problem could be the reason (we are mechanical engineers by trade...)w.
I wonder if you anyone here has experienced similar Base issues. Two of the reasons we have been purchased IBM, now Lenovo, are the tech support (still very good in my opinion) and product quality. I am hoping it is just our bad luck.
