I just cloned my drive to an SSD I got for review but the system will not boot. Possibility that the clone was bad but did you have to change any BIOS settings to get it to run? My R61e has AHCI and compliant modes for HDD's in BIOS. Also, are you running FAT 32 or NTFS? I formatted the drive to NTFS prior to the clone.

formatting the drive first makes no diference as the clone process will format it again.
Eitherway - just slip in your Windows CD and do a repair (Vista will just do a quick 5 min boot repair) and you can boot again.

This is XP Pro. It stalled on the first clone so I tried formatting and the clone took. I can't do a repair as the R61 doesn't come with a windows disk. I have a key and may try slipstreaming of the 386 file on the Laptop with the key imbedded. I'll play around in BIOS a bit and have some tips from the company to try before i resort to the more labor intensive things. Thanks!

Battery life is better but not improved as much as the responsiveness. It appears about 10% better.
Could you elaborate a bit more on the energy consumption? I went from a 5400 rpm drive to a Mtron (6000 series) 32 GB SSD. The drive is very fast but it also does consume more power than I anticipated. With my 5400 rpm drive both idle and peak power consumption in battery optimized mode was several watts lower than with the Mtron.
What type of power consumption do you get with your Mtron Pro?
