x61 -- are any new models/updates expected soon?

I am interested in buying a x61, here in Canada.
I don't need it immediately, and I'm wondering if it's worth me waiting a month or two. I have no complaints about the x61 as is, but I wouldn't mind a smidge more resolution on the screen.
Does anyone know if Lenovo is expected to put out any hardware updates on the x61 model in the next 2-3 months?
Thanks.

The X300 and X200 will have much much better specs than the X61, so you'll probably want to get one of those instead. Even if you wanted to get an X61, you should still wait because prices of the X6* will almost certainly drop like flies shortly after the release of the X200/300.

does anyone know (or can guess) the release dates for the x200/x300?
As well, and guestimates on the pricepoint?

The X300 is pretty much "out", it should start appearing on the Web-Sites on 26th Feb. the official announcement date - although it's no secret anymore

ok
I am reading price points at $2500-$3000++
I priced out a x61 at $1300.... think I'll have to pass on the x300.
I may hold off a month or two to see if the price changes ( on the x61 ), but I can't justify 3K.
Besides, one of my favorite things about the X6* series is the fast processors.

that's with a 64GB SSD. expect prices ~$1000 lower than than with a 1.8" 5400RPM 120GB HDD.

Back to the horrible performing 1.8" drives that were in the X4x series and esp. when using Vista. No thanks!

the 1.8" HDD will be 5400 rpm - not the same as the drives used in the old X4x series.

Are the models listed in Tabook for all international Lenovo dealers (i.e. Canada, UK, etc.), or are they only specific to the US?

Funny, I have been saying 'guestimates' since the early 90's.... don't know where I picked it up!!

THANKS, I'm going to check into that.
I hope to purchase in the next two weeks. I am curious about the effect the x300 will have on the x61 pricing...... but I don't expect much change to be honest.
My green ceiling ($$) is about $1500. I don't think I can justify an x300, even if they did go as low as $2000.
We all know in 3-4 years they'll be using x300's as paper weights, and they'll be the new 'latest and greatest'
<maybe that's a bit of stretch, but you know what I mean>
So it's likely to be the x61 for me. After must personal soul searching I have decided the XGA will be good enough, knowing I can plug into an additional monitor at work and when I have to at home.

Also, I saw an ecoupon a while back that was valid for Canada (first time if I can recall).
So maybe see if there is one available that can be combined with visaperks.
Good luck, hope ya get a deal!

Thanks,
At a glance, the 'visa perks' will save me another $50-60. I'll take all the help I can get!!
