Just received my X61s from Lenovo Outlet. I am just wondering how I can know the specifications of the hardwares. For example, how do I know if my LCD is the ultra bright one, as I ordered? My model number and its full specifications can not be found in the tabook since it is a CTO model.

The answer to your question you can try bringing it outside to test it out. Even with little or no sunlight the ultrabright will not affect the screen clarity if it does is not the one? Does it say on the site when you placed the order?

Thanks for your guys' replies. It was ordered through Lenovo outlet and it does not say the specifications in the order confirmation. I can only see the parts from the original advertisement on the outlet website.

The link to parts look up is very helpful. Unfortunately, after I entered my parts number, it still does not tell the specific parts that I should have (ultra bright, turbo memory, etc).

In the second column of the parts lookup it lists the FRU# (field replacement unit number). Search for "FRU XXX...", where XXX is the number of the part you're interested in, in the main search box on the Lenovo main page and you'll be able to find what exact component it is, i.e. whether you have an ultralight display.

Thanks a lot, Man. I followed your suggestion and found that my LCD part was described as

"LCD panel, 12.1-in. XGA, TMD".

I called the hardware support of Thinkpad and was told that "TMD" is the manufacture "Toshiba M a t s u s h i t a" that only makes Ultra Light display.

Now I am relieved.
