WLAN 3rd antenna cable for x60s

#1 Post by efrant » Tue Feb 26, 2008 12:47 pm

I'm looking to buy a Thinkpad AGN card and 3rd antenna for my x60s, and the parts site ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-62914 ) lists the 3rd antenna for an x60s like this: Wireless LAN 3rd antenna cable (SPWG) 93P4389... assuming I'm reading it correctly.

But looking at the other items on that page, it seems that there are different part numbers for SPWG and TMD x60's. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I could tell what my x60s is, and if the FRU I noted above will work in my x60s.

Thanks.

You have the correct FRU number. It applies to all X60/s units, so it does not matter whether your display is SPWG or TMD. Note: On the X60/s units (but not on the X61/s units), the 3rd antenna will replace the external WWAN antenna, if one exists; the two are mutually exclusive.

Thanks. I was kind of confused as all the other antennas were specific to either one or the other, but the 3rd WLAN only said SPWG.

Gotcha. I don't yet have a WWAN card, so I'm ok.
