#1 Post by brian15 » Wed Feb 27, 2008 8:59 am

Hi i've just bought a thinkpad x61 and it didn't come with any recovery cd's, so i was wondering is there a way to make the recovery cd?, or download the iso's from somewhere?

I think you should be able to use the thinkvantage button during startup, and there is an option to make a set of recovery CDs.
I know there have been numerous topics regarding recovery CD formation when they didn't come with the thinkpad.

Fortunately for me, my laptop did come with a complete set.

Hi
I didn't receive any recovery CD's with my X61 either. You just hit the thinkvantage button, select security, protection and recovery, then backup. Rescue and recovery will open. The second option is to do a full backup of your hard drive to CD/DVD.

I used this the first day I got the X61 as I wanted to upgrade the hard drive. It worked fine for me. I used an external DVD writer.
