IE7 keeps changing homepage to Lenovo Live, how do I stop it

#1 Post by rbr115 » Wed Feb 27, 2008 4:29 pm

I keep changing my homepage to my service provider's mail page and windows vista ultimate IE7 keeps changing it back to LenovoLive. How do I stop this? It is infuriating.

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

What's probably happening is that Access Connections (AC) is "taking over" and applying the default home page that was shipped with the system. You should be able to find the AC icon in the system tray. Open it up and you might have to poke around a little bit, but there should be a setting which has the LenovoLive URL. Change it to whatever you want and it should be remembered for that particular connection profile.

Or you could do the most sensible thing and download firefox...

:)

If you really like the IE7 interface, you can download a skin from the firefox website to make it look exactly like IE7.

Other useful downloads include:
IE Tab - opens a page in an Internet Explorer tab
Ad block - blocks advertisements from appearing in your browser
Flash Block - blocks flash animations (many advertisements are now in flash)

It is an easy fix in Access Connections, and much easier to fix the problem than to change software to try to avoid it. ... JDH
