Problem with the ThinkVantage Active Protection System(1.54)

I have an x60 with win XP Pro (1707-V28).

When I download and update the “ThinkVantage Active Protection System” version 1.54 my system gets extremely slow and I’m forced to re-install the entire system. Tried it twice so far and I’m not doing it again…

Could this happen if there is a problem with the accelerometer? I once (only once) got an error message during startup telling me to check the accelerometer with the PC doctor program but I couldn’t find anything in that program that actually checks that feature.

Does anyone know how to test the accelerometer?

Regards
/Dre
