How do I find the HW specification.

#1 Post by dre » Sat Mar 01, 2008 6:26 pm

I have an x60 with win XP Pro (1707-V28).

According to the add my system is supposed to have Bluetooth installed. I haven’t been able to find anything verifying that though. The system doesn’t appear to detect any Bluetooth hardware.

How can I find out if the system is equipted with luetooth without opening up the machine?

Regards
/Dre

Is the bluetooth radio on? FN-F5 on your keyboard.

According to the link my computer is based on a version that has Bluetooth/Modem. Does that mean that is has Bluetooth or a modem or is the Bluetooth integrated on the modem circuit board?

The wireless connectivity menu is on FN+F5 on my computer and Bluetooth just isn’t there. I had a T41 with Bluetooth earlier so I know what the menu is “supposed” to look like. To me it feels like the there isn’t any HW support at all for Bluetooth.

When I installed “Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software ” it just complained about not finding any Bluetooth HW.

You're going to have to pop open the covers to look for the presense of the card. If it's there, try reseating it first, then replacing it. If the machine is under warranty call Lenovo.

Didn’t know this but you can actually enable/disable HW in BIOS and my Bluetooth HW was disabled for some reason…

Just to let you know what the outcome was.
