Fingerprint problem on Logon and wakeup

#1 Post by pgregory9 » Mon Mar 03, 2008 5:16 pm

I am pretty sure this is NOT the same problem others have had. I have searched pretty thoroughly and the problems I've seen are somewhat different. I am running Win XP Tablet edition on an X61 Tablet. When I first got the thing a week ago I was able to swipe my finger at logon and after standby/hibernate and my username and password would be entered and I'd be (back) in windows. Now, however, even though it asks me (at logon and rewaking from standby/hibernate) to swipe my finger it appears totally unresponsive, and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del and manually enter my password. Also In the little control panel app to test the fingerprint reader I get no response. HOWEVER, password manager works wonderfully, and I can swipe my way into GroupWise and Gmail, etc. with no problems. Any ideas? It is as if outside of the Password Manager, the thing isn't reading, but when password manager is involved, its fine. I have version 5.6.2 of the fingerprint software, version 8.00.0311.00 of the Client Security Solution. I did at one point use the ThinkVantage software updater, but, sadly, am at a total loss to recall exactly what it did. I have tweaked and uninstalled/reinstalled in so many ways to try to resolve this I may have made the problem worse. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
