TPM / Client Security / Enrollment problem - Nothing works!

Hi everyone!

Okay, so I have a Lenovo Thinkpad x60s.
I did a complete, clean reformat, and installed Windows XP.

First thing I tried was Client Security Solution 8.1.
It gave me the customary "The user could not be enrolled with Client Security Solution" message.

So I tried all the suggested solutions:
Uninstall, reset security chip in BIOS, reinstall... same thing.
Uninstalled TPM, reinstalled TPM driver, repeated above... same thing.

I couldn't do the "taking ownership of TPM" option because I never installed Vista, so there is no such thing as a TPM.msc for me.


Any suggestions? I am completely out of ideas here. I know it's not a software / harddrive issue, everything is clean (there is no other program installed).

Aside from "clearing" the security chip in the BIOS, is there a more thorough way of resetting the security chip?

Hey, as I mentioned in my original thread, I have done that already. In fact, it was the very first thing I did:

I guess I wasn't being clear about what I meant by "reset". I cleared the chip countless times. I never got any error message when I cleared the chip. I have tried disabling and then enabling it. I tried putting it into inactive and then enabling it again. And then clearing it. Still no luck.

Aside from the security chip, I have also cleared all the old fingerprints from the BIOS, I have reformatted the entire harddrive, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the TPM driver... still nothing.
