X61s usb boot problem

#1 Post by pdudas » Sun Mar 09, 2008 9:01 am

Hi!

I have an x61s (7666-36G) with the bios 1.08 (7NET27WW). This x61s does not want to boot from any USB stick. I have USB adopted minipe, Acronis true image USB boot pendrive. None of them bootable on x61s. Non system disc or disc error what I've seen...
I can boot from USB cdrom.

The above mentioned USB sticks are both bootable on my Vaio Sz680 and Vaio SZ4.

(external boot and enabled, and I select the boot device from boot menu (F12).

Do you have any idea why I cannot boot from these devices?

I haven't had any trouble booting from USB sticks on my x61s, although you have to make sure you are setting up the USB stick properly.

I found http://www.msfn.org/board/install-XP-US ... .html&st=6 and http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ helpful.

No idea why it would work on your Vaio but not x61s.

It only boots from my old USB 1.1 pendrive and from my external usb hdd. All other devices are not bootable for X61s.

All devices are bootable on other computers.
I flashed it to latest bios and checked everything in bios.

Any other idea?
