How to prevent wallpaper from rotating on X61T?

When I rotate my X61T tablet from landscape to portrait mode, the wallpaper rotates too, resulting in a landscape wallpaper on the portrait-mode screen (with black bars above and below the wallpaper). Is there any way to prevent the wallpaper from rotating?

Press the "Briefcase" button on the tablet (next to Esc), a menu will pop up, choose "Settings" from the left hand bottom corner and then disable options in "Auto Screen Rotation" area according to your requirement.

This is not what I meant. The desktop rotation feature is fine, but I want to prevent the wallpaper from rotating. That is, in landscape mode, my landscape wallpaper looks fine. When I rotate into portrait mode, the landscape is still landscape even in portrait mode, but now with black bars above and below the wallpaper.
Any ideas how to fix this?

well if the desktop rotates and the wallpaper is part of the desktop then one would also expect it to rotate. This is a "feature" of the OS if you can call it that and there's no fix for it since it's supposed to be that way.
There might be software though that can change your wallpaper on the fly when you changed your rotation. I'd google for that instead.

Make your wallpaper 1024x1024, not 1024x768 and use "Tile" when setting it as your desktop.

If this is supposed to be a 'feature' of the OS it's a pretty dumb one.
I have a similar problem. The wallpaper is rotated and 'squished' out of its proper proportions.
Windows is sometimes not very smart.
