Vista Downgrade

#1 Post by smvp6459 » Wed Mar 12, 2008 3:27 pm

I'm contemplating getting an X61 tablet with this sale going on...

I know I remember seeing a discussion somewhere, but I can't find it now. For the X61 tablets, which Vista versions can you order downgrade CD to the XP Tablet version? Is it just Vista Ultimate or is Vista Business included as well? Anyone have any experiences?

Many thanks

Vista Business and Vista Ultimate.

With Vista Business, the idea is to include what you need to get work done, and I figure that's why the XP option is included :-).

Vista Ultimate includes everything.

So if you order either version of Vista with the X61T, you can downgrade to XP tablet edition?

Yes, you can, but you have to purchase the tablet recovery dvds.... or bum them off of someone cause your vista business/ultimate includes the necessary license to run xp pro. Vista home includes the license for xp home (I think), which is not of too much use since xp tablet is based on xp pro.
