Ordered from Lenovo Outlet:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7500 LV (1.6GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic
12.1" UltraLight XGA TFT, 2x3 UltraConnect II antenna
1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory,
Intel Turbo Memory 1GB
80GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm Serial ATA (2.5")
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
1 Year Standard Depot Warranty
ThinkPad X60s Series 4 cell Slim Line Battery

$817

What do you guys think? I know the specs aren't the greatest but price-wise, I don't think I can beat this.

I was initially going to order a CTO model for $1156 with:
1.8 Ghz
100 GB 7200 rpm
Fingerprint reader
Bluetooth
Intel AGN wireless card

I figured, those upgrades are not worth $340.

Good deal or not? I wanted the 8 cell battery but I guess I'll buy one off ebay.

Yea, I think that is a good deal! Good luck with your unit, I bought an X61 from the outlet and it shipped quickly (although I never got a shipping notice from them) and has been working great. I did the same as you (mine cost $692) and upgraded the RAM and hard drive myself versus buying a more expensive model.
Thinkpad T420 | Core i-5 2520M | 16gb RAM | 120gb Intel 520 SSD + 750gb 7200 RPM | 6300 N | Ubuntu 12.04 x64
Desktop: AMD FX-8350 (8 cores) | 32gb ECC RAM | 240gb Intel 530 SSD + 1tb 7200 RPM | Ubuntu 14.04 x64 | HP ZR24w
Previous Thinkpads: A21m, R40, X61, T410

Your X61 was only $692? Wow that's cheap. Would you mind sharing the specs that it came with?

Also, how much better performance is the 1.8 Ghz CPU compared to the 1.6 Ghz CPU?
