Ok,

it seems very difficult to find an answer to this. Is it possible, using the x60 tablet with a core 2 duo and vista 64, to utilize 4 gb of ram?

Many people say that the max for x60 is 3gb of ram, even under vista 64. This lenovo support site give information telling us that the x60t is somehow an exception and CAN use 4gb of ram with a 64 bit operating system.

Well the reason for the plain X60 was because of the chipset not supporting it. I would doubt anything's different if the chipset is the same (use CPU-z to check).

Assuming you haven't installed a 64-bit OS already, you can download a 64-bit Linux live cd to do a quick test without permanently modifying things.

I thought the Core 2 Duo would allow 4gb support with the 64 bit OS.

I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time and I am sure not the last.

no... while this is for the T60 it's the same issue:

No matter what, not even with a Core 2 Duo and 64bit OS will you be able to use 4GB. With Vista SP1 tho you will "see" 4GB installed in the system even if it's only actually using 3GB of it.
