SSD on X61s/Tablet?

It sure is.. the X60 series uses a normal 2.5" SATA disk drive. Many SSDs on the market can be ordered in this interface/form factor.

after you installed SSD, the active protection system is still working?

uhhh no? The SSD doesn't have any moving parts so you can just remove that before you install the SSD. Or for that matter, don't clone your current HDD. Install fresh to the SSD your OS of choice and just don't install active protection.

As Shotta mentions, once I installed the SSD, I un-installed the Active Protection System.. it doesn't make sense to use it on an SSD as there is nothing that needs protecting.

(The Active Protection System isn't a pure hardware system; it's made up of a hardware sensor, and driver software to interpret the results and command the HDD to park the heads when necessary.)
