Dual-channel configuration?

#1 Post by Nickolai » Tue Mar 25, 2008 7:33 am

Is dual-channel memory configuration possible for X60s/X61s ?
i.e. should I only pair identical memory modules in X60s/X61s if I want optimum memory perfomance or there is no difference?

Dual channel is possible. I don't think the modules need to be identical, but they do have to be similar. The size needs to be the same, and probably the timings need to be the same.

In my experience it's not a big deal either way. The important thing is to get more memory.

Dual channel is possible.
Nice to know it is. Then I don't want to ruin it by buying a notebook with modules of different size.
How can I make sure that dual channel is possible?
