Hi
I am thinking of getting 200GB drive for my X61. Two of them I am looking at right now
- Seagate ST9200420AS, 200GB 7200rpm SATA-300 16MB cache
- Hitachi 200GB, 7200rpm SATA-150 16MB cache
So, which one is the best in term of
- Noise
- Heat
- Compatibility (error 2010 during booting up)
Please advice, thank you very much

There is no 2010 error on the newer Thinkpads.
And there's a new 320gb 7200 out that you may want to look at as well.

Wow ... But I think 200GB is good enough for me, due to $ issue.

Thanks

The duration of warranty should also be a consideration.

According to benchmarks, a high density 250GB 5400rpm drive is faster than an 100GB 7200rpm drive. It runs much cooler too, which is good for the data longevity.
