First thoughts about X61, old T60, and CSS

I just got a X61, and gave my wife my T60 (well, not yet). I have to say that I am positively impressed with the X61. It's superfast, responsive, and of course light. I don't even know where to begin. Sufice it to say that I am quite happy.

As I said, I have a T60 and have always been very diligent about security and all. However, I must say that the X61 without CSS is sooooo much faster than my T60 with CSS and TPM enabled, that I am already planning to do a full reinstall this weekend on the T60, but without CSS, so that my wife doesn't have any problems with it.

So, besides the obvious differences, has anyone else experienced the same or something similar? Do you find CSS annoying and unnecessary? (I am conflicted about this last point).

Thanks for your answers.

I don't have 'serious' security needs, just some financial things & personal notes. A simple hard drive password does the job for me. I also use a encrypted container on a back up drive.

Client Security Solution is overkill for my needs. My T60 is pretty fast, even with Vista because I have 2 gig of RAM, 7200 rpm hard drive & the uneeded services are disabled.

Other security idea might be the built in encryption found in the various MS Office products like Word and OneNote, and I think Excel, too.
