Cloning the entire HDD to a file

#1 Post by Oren » Sun Apr 13, 2008 9:18 pm

Hello again,

After spending few hours installing Vista, SP1, drivers and tweaking i want to create an image of the entire HDD before installing apps.

I have a USB CD drive and a USB HDD, No docking station.

I have tried with Hiren's boot cd, (did'nt recognize USB HDD) Acronis, and Ghost, all did not recognize USB HDD.

Any ideas?

Tnx in advance.

Shrink your main partition. Create a second partition. Format the second partition as FAT32. After you boot into Visat, copy that image from the machine's harddisk to the USB drive for storage.
