x61 Display Resolution Options

What are the options. I couldn't clearly decode hte WSXGA++ etc... codings and their help me decide screens actually look wrong.
What is the max I can get on an x61?

XGA is the max for the X61 (unless you are talking about EXTERNAL resolutions which go to QXGA i think)
The X61T however has the SXGA+ option.

So what WxH are each of those.
Is XGA 1024x768 and SXGA 1400x1050?

Which is correct save some debate about the NTSC resolution.
Yes, XGA is 1024 x 768 and SXGA+ is 1400 x 1050. No ThinkPad currently offers the SXGA (no +) resolution, which is the 1280 x 1024 5:4 aspect ratio.
Edit: As a side note, that chart reminds me of when the gold standard was VGA... and everyone at the time thought that was light years ahead of the old monochrome monitors that displayed ASCII art.
Can you tell I'm waiting for the holographic displays? (With flexview no doubt...)

Correct but SXGA+ the plus is important as SXGA is 1280 x 1024.

1280x1024 is precisely the resolution I am using. Out of all available, I chose this one as the best and as a decent compromise between 1024x768 (which I like but renders poorly on this T61) and 1400x1050 (which is native, but requires me to use a magnifying glass to read it, even with good modern graduated bifocals on). ... Ah yes, IMHO the 1280 x 1024 resolution is the best combination of fine detail and ease of use on the eyes. Too bad it's not available natively...
Do you notice fuzziness when using that resolution on your T61?

1. Yes - I do wish it was available natively. Sometime, the young doofuses that call themselves designers will grow old too, and will realize the error of their foolish ways.
2. No - not so I notice. It is not razor sharp, but is certainly very, very good. ... JDH

I upgraded the NVidia driver with Microsoft update, and I have to say that the display is highly satisfactory at 1280x1024. The NVidia scaling is very good. ... JDH
