Fuzzy VGA output to External LCD Monitor w/ X61(PIC WARNING)
Just finished a clean install of Vista Ultimate on my new X61. I love the laptop but i'm getting fuzzy output to my Dell E228WFP 22" LCD Monitor (1680x1050)
My previous Asus laptop was much clearer when ouput via VGA.
With the X61, there are areas that are clear but also patches of fuzziness.
Anyone else with this problem and is there a fix?
I have the most recent Intel X3100 driver: 7.14.10.1461

According to the Intel Graphics Property. The output is 1680x1050, the native resolution of my monitor. But I have obsreved that if I move my mouse cursor to the extreme left, half of the cursor moves off the screen, as if the screen is extended a bit. Don't know if this is related.smvp6459 wrote:Check what the actual output of the monitor is. I suspect Vista doesn't have the proper driver information for WSXGA+ and is defaulting to a lower resolution, which would appear fuzzy.
Can someone with an X61 with Windows XP confirm whether or not they have this same output problem?

Try pressing the "Auto Adjust" button on the monitor.

I was just going to say that I found a fix for it. And it was pressing the "Auto Adjust" on my monitor. It fixed the entire fuzziness issue. I'm very happy nowpianowizard wrote:Try pressing the "Auto Adjust" button on the monitor.

Amazing. I have hated this fuzziness since the day I brought home my Samsung 216BW, which I expected to be a great addition to my X61T. I blamed the X61T graphics system and put up with it. Then I stumbled onto this thread, pressed the button, and to my utter amazement the fuzziness disappeared and the monitor is now exceeding all my expectations! I must have looked at that button a hundred times, but never thought to press it. Thank you!!
