x60s hangs when docking or undocking

When I dock from a sleep state or when I undock, laptop hangs. Mouse moves but click doesn't work. HD light continues to blink.

Please help. How do I solve this problem?

Thank you very much.

BACKGROUND INFO: I recently upgraded my HD, clean installed Vista and manually installed all necessary drivers. As for Thinkpad software, I just installed Access Connections, Active Protection, Easy Eject, Power Manager and hotkeys. I have Kaspersky AV, Webroot SpySweeper, Comodo Firewall Pro.

Had a similar problem with a dell ddock.
Dont dock while sleeping.
Undock by clicking the "remove safely" arrow

So what do I do?

Usual scenario is: you're in a meeting. You're done. You close the lid. laptop sleeps. You go back to office. You dock.

any other scenario would be more inconvenient.

This is what I do. I have tried using Easy Eject and that little button to the left of the X6 ultrabase and same thing happens. Screen freezes, mouse cannot move, i get beep when I hit any keys on the keyboard but the HD LED keeps on blinking.

This is proving to be such an annoying bug because I always find myself forcing a shutdown just so I can undock which again is totally inconvenient and for a business user like me who's always in and out of the office, this makes thinkpads such an unattractive option.

any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks
