X60 Tablet lower 1/3 screen jittering

Hi everyone,

today, the lower 1/3 of my X60 tablet screen started jittering  . I immediately shutdowned the machine. The jittering persisted after the first reboot but disappeared after the second reboot. Right now, the screen is fine for around 30 minutes.

I googled and found several similar cases. Some said that the jittering part would go black after a while. I could not find any related thread in the forum.

My X60T (6366-L6U) is one year old now. It has a SXGA+ disply, 2GB ram, the latest driver and Bios, and vista buz 32-bit SP1. I used the ultrabase frequently. I have 3 year depot coverage on it.

My questions are:

1. Does anybody know what causes the lower 1/3 screen jittering?
2. Shall I send this machine back to Lenovo now or wait to see whether the problem will resurface?

Thank you.

I had this problem with my X61T shortly after I ordered it. I believe it's related to how long the laptop has been on/heat--it only occurred on cold boots.

I sent my laptop in to Lenovo last year and they repaired it--not resurfaced since.

Thank you.

The problem resurfaced after a while, and as other people has suggested, when I pressed the left side of the screen frame, the problem went away.

I called Lenovo support and they said that it was probably due to problem of the inverter. I will need to send my machine to them to repair, and it will take 5 ~ 7 days.

Two people I work with had this problem on their X60t machines. Lenovo fixed it promptly. I have never had the issue on my previous X60t or my current X61t.

It took IBM one day to fix my tablet. I sent it out on Tuesday and it came back on Thursday. Pretty impressive. The display jittering disappeared.
