Delete Recovery Partition??

How can I delete the 6.0 GB recovery partition that came by default on my X61s machine, and what kind of services I'll be deprived off??

IBM ThinkPad X61s, L7500(1.6GHz), 2GB RAM, 160GB 5400rpm HD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel X3100, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, Intel Turbo Memory, 4c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 32

I formatted my old x41 60g HD and installed xp. Would it be possible that the restore partition survived all that, and I could restore it to TABLET...
