X61T - Inking response time / inking speed ??

I managed to try out Windows journal on the X61T with Vista 32.

The inking was excellent -- both clarity and precision. However, I found the response time to be lacking when I wrote with my normal fast handwriting.

It was like -- 0.2 - 0.5 seconds lag -- enough to make a noticeable difference (and discomfort), compared to real handwriting on paper.

Is this the fastest the Wacom & Vista can go? Can it go any faster? Will it be faster in Win XP? Or will it be faster in super well-programmed inking apps?

I haven't noticed in inking lag time for myself with my X61T in Vista 32.
Although I only really ink in Onenote.
Have you tried inking in any other programs, maybe the problme is just Windows Journal.

Well, unfortunately that was a defective X61T that I had to return, so I didn't install OneNote on it to try it out.

But the lag isn't all the time -- it only occurs if I write "really fast" which is actually just a fast handwriting.

Could just be that I don't write fast enough enough to experience the problem....sometimes when I'm on battery and in 'maximum battery life' mode, I notice a bit of a lag in lectures, but I just attribute that to reduced power consumption.

Oh well, hopefully with the new X61T you can test out some other programs, or just slow down (!)
