X61T - Grayscale inking available in Vista ?

#1 Post by snots » Sat May 03, 2008 7:06 pm

Inking in Windows Journal on Vista 32 was good. But there didn't seem to be grayscale.

The Wacom is capable of 512 levels of pressure sensitivity, I think. Is there an ink mode where it mimics a pencil -- the harder you press, the darker, and the lighter you press, the grayer and dimmer?

Is there also a "real-life" ink mode, where if you leave the pen pressed down on a spot for 1-2 seconds longer, you make an ink blot? And where if you write with the pen slower and more diligently, the pen line is thicker, and if you write faster, the pen line is wispier and thinner?

Thanks.

I never use Windows Journal, but I definitely get the grayscale features you describe in OneNote. I'm sure other programs would have this as well... at the very least the docked tablet pop-up writing tool that comes pre-installed has the greyscale feature.

I know Photoshop CS2+ have support for pen pressure. In Onenote you need to check the options to enable the pressure, its not on by default.
