Installed Fingerprint software on XP - now WONT logon!

#1 Post by unomystEz » Sun May 18, 2008 1:57 pm

By trying to get rid of the unknown hardware in device manager, I decided to install the fingerprint drivers. I rebooted the machine and now it says "Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to logon" with the fingerprint icons and lenovo branding. However I can't hit ctrl-alt-del to logon. I always use the NT4 style login screen, not the default logon that XP ships with. I suspect those brilliant engineers at IBM/Lenovo never bothered to test that configuration.

Anyone know how to fix this problem without a reinstall? I'll be [censored] if I have to reinstall windows yet another time! I'm so f*cking sick of windows and having to reinstall every 2 weeks.

TIA

just go into control panel and check user accounts. From there you can change the way how people log onto the machine. I think it's simple log on and advanced. If however you are part of a domain you can't change it and the admin controls stuff like that.
