Dear All,
I am planning to buy a x61. It seems that the Turbo Memory is a new technique. How much speed improvement can it provide?
It seems that the Turbo memory work s only under Vista. I am planning to work under xp and linux. Is there any way to use Turbo Memory under xp and linux? Thank a lot!

Personally I wouldn't go for it - save the money and get an extra 2GB stick of RAM instead. (Crucial, Corsair, OCZ .. the best stuff around for the same price as a Turbo Memory card).
At this stage, the tech is still in its infancy and can cause more problems than it's worth .. just do a quick search via google on the pros and cons and you'll note that there are more cons than pros. I understand if Turbo Memory was something like 8 or 16Gb... then ok, but 1 GB?
BTW, the Turbo memory will not work in either Linux or XP - it's strictly Vista.
This is my honest opinion, other folks may/will have a different opinion on this.
Cheers!

I would definitely agree with icantux, save the money, and because ram is so cheap nowadays, up your systems ram.

the best thing about it (conceptually) is how u have 512mb of nv disk cache. I can't do any comparisons but hopefully that will turn out to be worth something (got mine used, came w/ turbo mem)
