Need help! Spilled margarita on my X60s

#1 Post by buckalho » Thu Jul 03, 2008 5:55 pm

Heellp.
does anyone know how to clean/recover the laptop?
I tried to turn it on but ended up having only green power light on.

If not, does anybody know in this forum who's willing and able to clean up the whole mess?

By the way, when I looked up my warranty, I got this:
This product has a two year limited warranty which includes a ThinkPlus warranty upgrade. This product is entitled to parts and labor and is entitled to EZServ. This machine is also entitled to the Thinkpad Protection Service. Customers may call the PC HelpCenter for more information.
I wonder if my warranty covers spill damage...

Not sure, but it does not cover treatment center costs.

According to Lenovo warranty from this document:
D. Scope of Service:
Pursuant to this Agreement, We will repair or, if in our sole discretion if we decide it is necessary, replace the Product if it experiences operational or structural failures resulting under normal operating conditions and handling due to liquid spills on the keyboard, unintentional drops and bumps of the Product, an electrical surge that damages the Product’s circuitry, or the failure of the integrated LCD screen. Service is available only in the United States.
It looks to me like you are covered.

Thanks for your reply.
I went to couple Lenovo service provider or some sort (based on location search on Lenovo website) but all of them said that my laptop
s warranty has already expired and it'd take about 600 for motherboard repair

I tried to call lenovo tech support and....
they said my laptop is still covered by warranty (including spill damage) and they'll send me a shipping box to send the broken laptop for repair..... for free.

the tech support told me to call them whenever I had similar accident because the onlocation service provider can not repair it. huh???

I wonder if the 3 years limited warranty thingy really worth it?

Does anyone has similar experience?

The EZServ part means that you have to send it in.

The lengthy 24-step rehab process.

Think about those two sentences for a moment.
