tablet 2005 on X61 tablet standby/hibernation trouble

Hi, could I get any help with malfunctioning sleep/hibernation on windows xp tablet on a X61T?

Trying standby mode leaves me with either a blank screen (black) or a blue "windows is preparing to standby/hibernate" that just sits there..

Is there a sticky on this subject that I haven't found?
