64 bit on X60s

#1 Post by buckalho » Wed Jul 09, 2008 11:15 pm

I've search all over google looking for a definite answer whether x60s (with L2400 or L2500) can use 64 bit Os, be it xp or vista.

have anybody successfully installed 64 bit vista or xp on x60s machine?

The chipset in your ThinkPad does not support a 64-bit OS of any kind, you'd need a X61/s for that.

What are you doing where you think you'd benefit from a 64 bit machine or are you just learning new things? I tried the 64 bit Vista on my AMD desktop. I quest for drivers was a long tortured road.

Ability to use 4 GB RAM maybe? But then I imagine X60s can't do that anyway...
